Responsibilities:

Lead comprehensive feasibility study and conceptual option leading to the optimum improvement options to FIP raised.

Lead optimum design analysis and quality evaluation of detailed design leading to the completion of detailed drawings, manuals, design report and specification for optimum fabrication .

Development of equipment specifications, bid enquiry package and provision of engineering
services for the purchase of company supplied items.

Acquisition and application of new technology for effective cost optimization that suit the operational requirements by analyzing and preparing recommendation to ensure proven technology is used whenever possible and to select appropriate development solutions if proven technology is not available.

Lead technical integrity check of project deliverables through execution of QA/QC functions.

Provide technical expertise to special teams formed during various phases of new project
execution/audits/improvement initiatives.

Develop skill and expertise within Electrical Skill Group through keep abreast with the latest technologies / trends and staying current with training practices of other organizations and industries.

Requirements:

Degree in Electrical Engineering and equivalent. At least 5 years of relevant working experience in Oil & Gas industry.

Responsibilities:

Feasibility Study and Conceptual Design
Lead comprehensive feasibility study, conceptual design and Front End Engineering Design (FEED) by developing detailed and comprehensive Riser Engineering study in project implementation phase, with regards to technology, methodology, commonality and analyze impact to project objectives, identify areas for improvement and effective design engineering practices to ensure optimum project development.

Design Analysis and Quality Evaluation
Lead optimum design analysis and quality evaluation of detailed design by preparing and executing the contracting strategy, technical evaluation and recommendation of design contracts, reviewing design requirement and schedule, defining and preparing contract scope of work during various phases of project development, ensuring Contractor's compliance to contractual requirement in project design engineering, leading to the completion of detailed drawings, manuals, design report and specification for optimum fabrication.

Develop, prepare and review project cost estimate, project budget for approval and verify claims for changes in works to meet overall project objectives.

New Technology
Acquire and apply new technology that meet project and operational requirement by analyzing and preparing recommendation to ensure proven technology is used whenever possible and appropriate development solutions is selected if proven technology is not available for effective cost optimization.

Technical Integrity
Lead technical integrity check of project deliverables including validation of all designs, calculations, and scopes of work, specifications, and bills of quantities, drawings and reports through through execution of QA/QC functions, by means (where applicable) of Hazard and Operability Study (HAZOP), Peer/Line Review, Project Integrated Review (PIR), QRA, Project Risk Assessment (PRA) in compliance with PETRONAS Technical Standard (PTS); international codes and standard, and best practices; local authorities or government regulations.

Technical Expertise
Provide technical expertise to Project Teams during various phases of project execution, i.e. during conceptual, FEED, detailed design, Factory Acceptance Test, troubleshooting at site during fabrication and hook-up & commissioning; and to Production Units

Requirements:

Degree in Civil Engineering and equivalent. At least 5 years of relevant working experience in Oil & Gas industry.

B5 Biodiesel Supply Nationwide Malaysia by 2013

B5 Biodiesel in Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR: The supply of the new fuel, biodiesel or B5 will be introduced nationwide earliest in 2013, taking into account companies’ time frame to build the blending facilities accurately, says Plantation Industries and Commodities Minister Tan Sri Bernard Dompok.

On June 1, Malaysia implemented its mandatory B5 biodiesel programme (blending five per cent palm methyl ester with 95 per cent fossil fuel) starting with the central region covering Putrajaya, Malacca, Negeri Sembilan, Kuala Lumpur and Selangor.

Currently, the ministry together with MPOB are looking into the plan to expand the B5 programme nationwide including industry sectors.

“The B5 programme will give positive impact to Malaysia’s oil palm industry, mainly in stabilising demand and price, besides lifting the country’s image at the international level,” he told reporters after launching the use of B5 programme for the central region level, Kuala Lumpur, here today.

The government would continue to keep the price at RM1.80 per litre, the same cost as regular diesel and absorb the differences, he added.

Dompok stated the roll out of B5 in Kuala Lumpur would involve B5 supply by 247 petrol stations, and about 890 tonnes or 1.03 million litre palm oil biodiesel would be used per month.

“This would contribute to saving close to 12.4 million litre fossil diesel per year in Kuala Lumpur,” he explained.

The government through the Malaysian Palm Oil Board has allocated RM43.1 million for the construction of B5 biodiesel in-line blending facilities.

The B5 programme is envisaged to take up some 500,000 tonnes of CPO, which in turn will help the industry manage its palm oil stock levels. – Bernama

SapuraCrest and Kencana Merger by Early 2012

Kuala Lumpur : SapuraCrest Petroleum Bhd and Kencana Petroleum Bhd expects their merger to take palce by the first quarter (1Q) of 2012. The RM11.85 billion merger will results in the world’s fifth largest oil and gas services provider to compete with global oil majors for more complex, capital intensive projects.

The boards of both companies recently established an integration committee to be jointly chaired by SapuraCrest executive Vice-Chairman and President Datuk Shahril Shamsuddin and Kencana Group CEO Datuk Mokhzani Mahathir.

In a joint statement, they expressed keen interested to explore the opportunities and dynamics as a merged entity via Integral Key Sdn Bhd (IKSB), the special purpose vehicle wholly-owned by Mayban Ventures Sdn Bhd. Shahril and Mokhzani said the companies viewed the merger as an enabler on multiple level and the dynamics would work for them.

“With a suite of assets and services that clearly complement each other, we can unlock the full potential of our abilities as a combined company and move steadily into the next chapter of growth. “We are highly optimistic about fostering a solid partnership based on our mutual respect for each other and shared vision to build an entity on a foundation of integrity, strong core values and merit. This is an absolute necessity to compete locally and on a global stage” they said.

Under the cash and share-swap deal approved by both boards, IKSB will acquire all assets and liabilities of SapuraCrest for RM5.87 billion and that of Kencana for RM5.98 billion.

The companies expect to secure 75% approval from their respective shareholders at EGMs to be held by end-year. The merger is being jointly advised by Maybank Investment Bank Bhd and CIMB Investment Bank Bhd.
